If your Answers are Yes then read on…

We offer a professional apprenticeship with Saks Academy.You will train one to one with a team member weekly and see your tutor every 4-6 weeks. You have to be self-motivated to be able to do your course work in your own time. We will give you all the skills and knowledge to be able to build a successful clientele. You will also be sent on courses outside of the salon to help improve your knowledge and skills.

“I started my apprenticeship when I was 16 as soon as I left school. I did my level 2 in college but my level 3 through the salon with Saks education and it was the best decision. College slowed me down a little bit as I only went once a fortnight and there was a full class to teach. With an apprenticeship you learn more one on one, you also learn more by watching the stylists and how to work in a real salon environment. I’ve always worked in a Hair salon since I was 13 so I knew what I wanted to do when I left school. I’ve been at Hair Secrets nearly 7 years now and I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone. Your not only in education but also earning a living.”

“I started my NVQ level 2 Hairdressing at College and when the course had finished I decided to come and work at Hair Secrets to continue with my NVQ level 3 and barbering. I wanted to do an apprenticeship as I didn’t feel like I got enough salon experience in the college environment. I had to go back to basics to make sure I was 100% perfect and confident in the salon. Every Wednesday Susan trained me for at least two hours in all aspects of hairdressing which I needed to improve on. I feel I have gained more confidence becoming an apprentice and have enjoyed every minute of learning. I am very grateful to the rest of the Hair Secrets team for pushing me to my maximum ability every day.”

“The minute I left school at 16 I couldn’t wait to start my Hairdressing career. I applied for an apprenticeship at Hair Secrets and two days after leaving school I started working. The team were so welcoming and friendly, I couldn’t have asked for a better salon to work in. Three and a half years later I’ve qualified in both my NVQ levels 2 & 3. I am currently focusing on building my own clientele. Without the support from the team at Hair Secrets I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
